What is an IRA?

An Individual Retirement Account (IRA) is a retirement investment account. IRA’s can offer tax deductions or tax-free withdrawals, depending on the type of account. IRA accounts can be opened in any of our savings or CD products.

Traditional IRA*

Contributions to a traditional IRA are generally pre-tax dollars or could qualify you for a tax deduction for the tax year your contributions are made. You’ll then pay taxes when you take distributions in retirement.

Contributions are generally made with after tax dollars. You do not receive an immediate tax deduction or benefit. However; your distributions in retirement will be tax-free.
